Day 2: Kalamata - Mani ( Kardamyli-Areopolis-Mazapos Bay-Diros Caves-Gerolimenas-Vathia-Kotronas)-Gythion Km 200.

We depart to explore the Messinian and Laconian Mani. A barren land, with rocks, stones, walls and prickly pear trees scattered across the naked hill sides, bays and coves. Travelling to Kardamili and to Areopolis we will meet beautiful villages with churches and belltowers, shiny rocks, fabulous caves and remains of medieval castles. Our first stop will be Diros caves with many splendid colours. Stalagtites and Stalagmites form figures in a tight embrace. Then comes the Mezapos bay, dotted with ruined towers and above them the ruined castle of Mani, Maina. Then we do a circuit of the figure driving to Gerolimenas, Vathia and Kotronas. Towers everywhere. Nothing but stones, prickly pear trees, a few gnaried olive trees and stone houses. Colourful fishing boats are tied up alongside beautiful small natural piers. Your day ends in Gythio.

Overnight: In a 3 star hotel at Gythion.

Day 3: Gythion - Monemvasia - Mistras - Nafplio Km 300.

Departure for Monemvasia former Byzantine and Venetian fortress - state. Time stopped here in the Middle Ages. Castles and old mansions, little houses, narrow lanes paved with stone slabs, churches with crumbling facades, old low archways etc. Every little detail calls up memories of Byzantium and the Venetians. Then we continue to the dead Byzantine State of Mystras. You will visit the ruins of the palace, the Byzantine churches and houses (mansions) inside and outside the castles. Our day ends driving to Nafplion.

Day 4: Nafplio - Epidaurus - Mycenae - Ancient Corinth-Acrocorinth-Korinthos or Nafplio km 150 or km 100.

Our visit to Epidaurus, to see the theater, the best preserved of ancient Greece with the 12.000 seats and the perfect acustic, the Asklipion and the temples of Artemis and Themis. Then we continue to Mycenae, the state city of Agamemnon. Passing through the Lions Gate you will visit the Acropolis, with the 6 Royal tombs and of course, outside the walls, the Treasure of Atreus. Then we will continue to ancient Corinth, whose ruins are spread out at the foot of the huge Akrocorinth. The monuments are mainly Roman, a few are Greek. You will see the Long Walls, the Agora, the Temple of Apollo and the impressive Akrocorinth. Overnight at Corinth or at same hotel in Nafplion.

Day 5: Corinth or Nafplio - Caves of Lakes - Arcadia (Dimitsana - Karytaina) - Andritsaina - Temple of Apollo Epicurios ( Vasai) - Olympia Km 350

Departure to the Cave of the Lakes. A narrow passage takes you into a small cave at first which then broadens into an enormous cavern of 2 kilometers long, with 15 miniature lakes formed by natural dams. Stalagmites and Stalagtites with their extraordinary shapes, the iridescent colours, the immense boulders, the small water falls and the tiny lakes with their natural dams, stimulate and delight the imagination. From there we continue our tour to the mountaineous Arcadia passing through the picturesque villages of Dimitsana, Karytaina "the Toledo of Greece", Andritsaina etc. Stone houses, cobbled lanes, wooden balconies, lined with flower pots and tiled roofs. A respect to the local Architectural tradition and to the natural beauty of the area. Before we arrive at Olympia we will visit Bassae and the Temple of Apollo Epicurios. It was built in 420 b.c. and was designed by Iktinos, the architect of the Parthenon. Overnight at Olympia.

We will start our day with sight seeing at Olympia, the birth place of the Olympic Games and Spirit. They were held every four years in the honour of Zeus .Though exclusively local to start, they gradually have attracted athletes from all the Greek city-states. You can start your sightseeing with the archaeological site. You will visit the Prytaneion, the Philipeion, the Temples of Hera and Zeus, the Council House, the Treasuries etc. Then we continue to the ancient Messini (Ithomi) which was built in 370 b.c by the Thebian General Epaminondas. The city was protected by a circuit wall, which was considered one of the finest examples of military architecture of the 3rd and 4th century b.c. Among its public buildings the city had temples, a theater, a stadium and a cemetery. Our day ends driving to Kalamata.

Day 7: Kalamata - Koroni - Methoni - Pylos ( Niokastro ) - Nestor Palace - Chora - Kalamata Km 170.

After breakfast you depart to visit Koroni, the Medieval Lady. You will see old mansions, narrow streets, churches and a sizable Venetian castle. Then we continue to Methoni, called the city of the Knights. It boasts the biggest and the best preserved Venetian castle of the Mediterranean. To get into the castle you have to walk across a huge stone bridge with 14 arches.
Your next stop is Pylos, a charming colourful little city, built like an amphitheater. There are many traditional buildings with charming arches, a huge square with centuries old plane trees and the castle Niokastro, built in 1572 etc. Optional lunch and then we continue to Chora, an important archaeological site with the Palace of the famous ancient King of Pylos, "wise Nestor".After a unforgetable day return back to our hotel at Kalamata.

Day 8: Kalamata ( Hotel ) - Kalamata airport or Athens airport flight back home Km 11 or Km 250.

Greece in general has warm and humid summers lasting from May till October. In May and October weather can be less predictable with some rain and chilly temperatures being possible especially in the
Greek mainland. Greek summers are generally hot, with temperatures rarely getting lower than 25 degrees Celsius in most of our destinations, while temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius during the
day are not unheard of in July and August. In the open sea, weather can be tough to predict all year round, but in the summer the seas are generally calm and ideal for sailing. Generally, cool temperatures
and occasional rainfalls occur especially at night, especially in the mountains, a fact that you have to take into account when packing for your adventure.
