The place
We begin our tour to explore the major sights of the historic bay of Navarino, near the amphitheatric town of Pylos. Within a landscape of incredible natural beauty we enjoy clear blue waters, golden sandy beaches where sea turtles return to lay their eggs, and well built medieval castles standing over historical shipwrecks outlining the rich naval history of the area.

The activity
In the beginning, we have a briefing about the route we are about to follow and about the basic techniques in sea kayaking. We begin our journey paddling around the bay with original destination the imposing monolithic islet of Fanari with the impressive arch formed in the northern end of it. We continue to the island of Sfaktiria making a short stop for snorkeling at its southern tip. Heading north we explore the coastline of the island until we reach the dock leading to the Russian monument. At this lush part of the island we take a break to rest and enjoy a picnic with fruit and traditional delicacies. From that spot the whole bay of Navarino is at our feet. In this journey we will meet the sights and all the monuments dedicated to those who fought in the historic battle and will be informed about the outcome of this significant event in the course of history.

Two medieval castles guard the bay, recalling the famous naval battle of Navarino, one of the most important events of the modern Greek history.

Sea kayaking in Navarino Bay one of our most popular trips offering you the experience of remoteness with a visit to the island of Sphacteria. You will explore beautiful rock formations, relax on a hidden cove with a deserted beach and hopefully spot some migrant birds sea turtles or seals.

Our trip begins from Divari beach very close to Gialova lagoon. Before departure, we brief you on trip details,kayak paddling techniques and safety measures. Soon we will be heading towards the island of Sphacteria. During our stop at the island there will be enough time to swim, snorkel, sunbathe, rest and enjoy a home made picnic. Once the lunch stop is over we paddle back to the starting point to end an adventurous day spent in the tranquility of the Navarino Bay.
