Without a doubt one of the most popular pastimes for a Greek is his food, they say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, well that saying must have been made up by a Greek woman! With so much time being spent on food, it’s easy to say that the recipes have been perfected and are truly out of this world. On our culinary tour, we aim to share with you the importance of using fresh, local ingredients, the correct use of spices and herbs; and of course the joie de vivre that goes with preparing a Mediterranean meal.
After the preparation of the meal, it is time to sit back and enjoy the nectar of the Gods – locally produced wines will be served throughout the meal. Wander at the traditional village of Kastania with the narrow streets and the well preserved byzantine chapels of Agios Petros , Agios Nikolaos and Agios Ioannis. Also, you can visit the well preserved Tower museum of Dourakis in the square of Kastania with the main church of Virgin Mary.
