You start your day with a city tour of Thessaloniki. It has a vast history and in Byzantine times was joint capital of Byzantium together with Konstantinoupolis. It is full of monuments from the Macedonian Hellenistic period up to Byzantine times. We will visit the archaeological Museum, the White Tower, the Acropolis (Eptapyrgion), the Rotonda and the churches of Agia Sofia and Saint Dimitrios. Then we continue to Pella, the capital of the Macedonian State and birthplace of Alexander the Great. Between the 4th and the 2nd century B.C., it was the most important political, economical and administrative center of the Macedonian Kingdom. We will visit the Palace, the Agora, the Cemetery and the archaeological Museum. Then we continue to Vergina, known world wide for the excavations of the ancient Aeges- the first capital city of the Macedonians. We will visit the Palace and the Cemetery with the Macedonian tombs. One of them is believed to have belonged to King Philippos. We continue our tour to Meteora, overnight.

We start early in the morning with sightseeing of Olympia, the birth place of the Olympic Games and Spirit. We will visit the archaeological site with the Gymnasium, the Palaistra, the Stadium, the Temples of Hera and Zeus, the archaeological Museum and the Museum of the Olympic Games. We depart for Chora an important archaeological site with the Palace of the famous King of Pylos, the "wise Nestor". Then on to Pylos, a charming colourful little city, build like an amphitheater with many traditional buildings, charming arches and a huge square with centuries old plane trees and the castle "Niokastro". Our day ends in Kalamata,check-in and free time to explore the seaside city,overnight.

Our visit today is the ancient Messini (Ithomi), the most important ancient city in the area. The city was protected by a circuit wall, which was considered one of the finest examples of military architecture of the 3rd and 4th century B.C. Excavations have unearthed a fine theatre, a stadium, the Agora, the cemetary as well as many fascinating objects and works of art.After visiting the site and the museum free time for a snak or coffee to the traditional mountain village of Mavromati.Our last visit the historical monastery Andromonastiro.A stone's throw from the archaeological site of Ancient Messini (5 km. SE), in a secluded, wooded ravine near the village of Petralona lies the Monastery of the Transfiguration, also known as "Andromonastiro". This is undoubtedly the most important monastery complex in Messinia, which impresses the visitor from the first moment. It is, after all, and one of the best preserved monasteries in Greece. Since 2011 there has been ongoing restoration work of the Monastery by the 26th Committee of Byzantine Antiquities. Return to Kalamata, free time.Overnight.

Morning departure from your hotel for an astonishing day trip through Taygetos Mountain, the Switzerland of Greece, as they call it. A sort stop for a coffee/rest. Continue the excursion to Mystras. The place where the last Byzantine Emperor was crowned. Enjoy the guiding and the fantastic view to the Spartan Valley. Departure and visit the Museum of Elia (Olive) in the town of Sparti.Free time for relax and explore to the modern city of Sparta. Afterwards return through the new motorway to our hotel in Kalamata. We depart to explore the Messinian and Laconian Mani. A barren land, with rocks, stones, walls and prickly pears trees naked hill sides, bays and coves. Travelling to Kardamili and to Areopolis we will meet beautiful villages with churches and belltowers, shiny rocks, fabulous caves and remains of medieval castles. Our first stop is Diros Caves with many splendid colours. Stalagtites and Stalagmites form figures in a tight embrace. Then comes the Mezapos bay, dotted with ruined towers and above them the ruined castle of Mani, Maϊna. Then we do a circuit of the figure driving to Gerolimenas, Vathia and Kotronas. Towers everywhere. Nothing but stones, prickly pears, a few gnaried olive trees and stone houses. Colourful fishing boats are tied up alongside beautiful small natural piers. Your day ends in Gythio,a picturesque seaside city,overnight.
