The Winery
The winery is located at a prominent spot in the vineyard. It stretches 1200 sq. m. and is divided into three levels. The tank room takes most of the space, while the barrel room, located at the lower level, accommodates more than 200 French-oak barrels of 225lt.
Wine Production
Apart from the grapes produced by the estate, the winery processes around 500 tons of grapes produced by collaborating vineyards. The majority is of the variety Fileri, a local variety of Messinia’s mountainous region, unlikely to be found anywhere else.
Making the wine
In the winery, traditional techniques and modern technology and quality assurance systems are harmoniously combined. This, results in a winemaking process that respects the unique character of each variety and vineyard block and highlights the best elements of each wine.Concurrently, all our wines, with several awards in international competitions, exhibit our philosophy, our efforts and also the “character” and “soul” of our region.
The Wines
The wines are divided in three different groups. Each wine has its own personality and organoleptic characteristics attributed significantly to the different:
*Varieties (international or indigenous).
*Vineyard blocks (terroir).
*Farming methods (organic or conventional).
*Winemaking procedures.
*Ageing regime.
*A variety of wines that has one thing in common: The philosophy of Dimitris Panagiotopoulos !
