The tour in the olive oil factory Melas in Epidavros premises begins with a video presentation regarding the history of the sacred olive tree, local history, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, the sanctuary of Asclepius, culture, gastronomy and business activity. In the context of hospitality, visitors can enjoy, apart from olive sweets, the traditional olive rosoli, of Asia Minor origin, along with a coffee as a treat.

Rich dishes, based on the ORGANIC olive oil of Manaki variety from “Melas Estate”, along with other organic products of the region, are included in your visit, inspiring generously the family feeling of Greek hospitality while showcasing the Certified Extra Virgin Olive Oil (P.D.O.) Ligourio of the Municipality of Epidaurus.

The tour begins with a video presentation regarding the history of the sacred olive tree, local history, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, the sanctuary of Asclepius, culture, gastronomy and business activity.

Follows: Visiting the modern crushing factory of the olive fruit, with two lines, showing the stages of production of organic olive oil and the brand-named extra virgin olive oil P.D.O. Ligourio Asklepieion, deriving from the famous "Manaki" variety. The process of product quality control and classification for storage in stainless steel tanks is then presented.

Follows:Visit to the standardization unit. We present here the process of bottling products. Next, buffet savoury dishes and / or desserts are offered, based on the extra virgin olive oil of organic farming-Manaki variety from Melas estate. The visit ends with discussion and exchange of thoughts, impressions and conclusions.

Visitors can purchase from the retail shop of the olive oil factory extra virgin olive oil from all types of olive oil and organic cosmetics from extra virgin organic olive oil "MELAS".

After the olive tasting and tour you can visit the famous ancient theater and Aklipion of Epidavros.
