Rafting Lousios is an exciting day of fun and action in a divine river !
Lousios river is where Zeus, father of Olympian gods bathed himself.
Upon arrival to our base in the village of Maratha, our team will welcome you. You will be given your neopren suit and safety equipment to change. You will then enter our bus taking you to the starting point. Your guides will give an introductory lesson on paddling and safety and ..let the fun begin!
We will paddle in Lousios and Alfios rivers, which are of 2nd degree of difficulty. We will make various stops for a swim in the river’s crystal clear waters and for selfies in the densely vegetated gorge. Our ending takes place to the spectacular bridge of “Koukos” from where we will hike to a nearby waterfall. Our day ends with a delicious homemade meal prepared by our one and only cook Katerina !
The place
Enjoy a unique rafting experience in two of the most beautiful rivers of Greece. River Lousios after running 5 kilometers through its gorge falls into river Alfios. The variations in the scenery, the lush vegetation and the impressive rock formations give us a clear view of the natural environment of the river that can be explored only by rafting descents.
The activity
We begin the descent to the river from the bridge of Atsicholos in Arcadia fully equipped, and with the help of experienced river guides. During the descent we enjoy a fabulous natural environment with crystal clear waters. After passing 3km in river Lousios, we get into the largest river of the Peloponnese Alfios, where we continue for another 3 kilometers until the end of our journey. The difficulty of the rapids we encounter during the descent are easy to moderate on level 2-3 based on the international scale.
